The Cubs have made another offseason move, though not a free agent signing. They have acquired Outfielder Harold Ramirez from the Guardians for cash after they DFA'd him on Friday.

That is not surprising in itself, since the Cubs usually get one or two players that get DFA'd, but I see a smart move made by the Cubs "stealthy" front office. I really like that description of them...
The Cubs do need outfield help, that is no secret, but who they were going to get was in the air. While more might still be done with the outfield, this is at least a start.
- He batted .268/.305/.398 with a 90 wRC in 339 AB with the Guardians. He has a low 15.5% K rate, which is what the Cubs wanted in their players, and seems about an average player. He had 91 H and 7 HR, so not a power-hitter, but also not a soft-contact kind of hitter.
- It is interesting to note that Hawkins, the Cubs new GM, was in the Guardians' system for years. Perhaps he has inside information on Ramirez, or at least knowledge of how Ramirez plays.
- With this last move, the Cubs roster stands at 38, so some thinning the roster will still have to be done.
Overall, I say good job to the Cubs, and although I don't know exactly the main purpose of why they got him, he can become a valuable average outfielder, or perhaps he can become even better!Harold Ramirez:

-114.8 mph max EV (better than Patrick Wisdom)
-88th percentile sprint speed
-15.5 K%
-Same pull% as Nico Hoerner
-69th percentile outfielder jump (nice)
-Best Ramirez on the Guardians
-Robbed a homer against the Brewers (hates the Brewers)
